![]() At retail, it’s certainly worth $15 it’s not going to rock your world, but it certainly makes it feel like a better place when you’re playing it.ĭisclaimer: I was provided with a copy of Rain on Your Parade in exchange for a fair and honest review. Rain on Your Parade might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can complete six or seven varied levels in the time it takes to drink one. Elsewhere, the photo mode encourages sharing splash screens are modest but regularly thankful for players’ involvement. Kasztalski’s approach is clear: he simply wants people to love the game, even introducing a character called Buggy the Bug to highlight how problems should be reported to make the game the best it can be. Travel the world in over 50 levels causing disorder and havoc to weddings. Throughout Rain on Your Parade, the game is underscored with a real sense of care, honesty, and pride. Ruin peoples day with rain, thunder, lightning, tornadoes and many more abilities. It’s a completionist’s dream–something complemented by a range of tricky but satisfying achievements, for those seeking another elusive 1,000G. Completing the game unlocks a New Game+ mode, giving you new challenges to try on most levels, harnessing the powers you learned during your initial playthrough. Rain on Your Parade’s 50-level romp feels like it’s over too soon, but it doesn’t end after the credits roll. 'Metal Gear Solid' is among the game's many send-ups. The game’s rare spikes in difficulty often combine with unforgiving level design, often-odd mechanics, and janky camera angles these don’t help when you’re trying to dodge multiple rockets in search of a flawless escape, or remain undetected during a daring raid, but you keep trying because the game never feels genuinely unfair. While it’s a family-friendly game with its fair share of blink-and-miss-it levels, Rain on Your Parade also delivers some true tests for adept gamers. Occasionally, the gameplay takes a break from star-earning challenges to let you just enjoy yourself, whether that’s painting, petting a dog, or playing a surprisingly engrossing bowling game, which I’ve already earmarked for a multiplayer tournament in the future. ![]() ![]() It’s fun in the purest sense, and this is reflected in a series of non-levels. Every new stage is impossible to predict, and the core mechanics you’re offered–rain, thunder, tornado, and snow–are cleverly and carefully deployed. While those aforementioned game influences pop up throughout the action– Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Counter-Strike, Breakout, and even Katamari Damacy all get nods, while Zelda fans get a truly inspired game within a game–these are used these to get the very most from your limited skillset. Tornado is one of four core skills you pick up along the way. ![]()

1/8/2024 0 Comments King of mumble rap![]() ![]() “Lil Uzi Vert is, for better or for worse, yanking people into the future, a world in which rap is a swirling kaleidoscope of post-regional styles and post-genre sounds…Uzi is the proper arrival, pushing that sound into more colorful, gleeful territory with the help of a murderers’ row of current producers.” This quote from Noisy couldn’t be closer to the truth. So until there is a general consensus on what is actually happening and what we can title these new artists as a genre, we’ll stick to what people know. The only reason many rappers are referred to throughout this article as “mumble rappers” is because it is currently the only way to identify new rap artists – which of many you could make the argument are more of rockstars than rappers (another term might be Soundcloud rappers). Some would say that the phrase is actually ruining rap. It’s downplaying what these rappers are actually about and what they can actually do. ![]() Sometimes the new generation of rappers is even referred to as EDM rappers.īut “mumble rap” isn’t a real term. Often times the beats tend to be a little bit more EDM friendly. It results in a catchier tune than that of the usual staccato rhythms some are used to. Different notes and scales, and usually some type of autotune is used. It is a style of rap where some dimension of either word slurring (oftentimes done on purpose) and is sometimes hard to hear (even though many use some of the best microphones for rappers), melodies or singing is added. Whiz Khalifa is credited with coining the phrase “mumble rap” with an interview that he did on HOT 97 in June of 2016. “Mumble rap” is an up and coming term for a new sub-genre of hip hop music that started in the mid-2010s. With this culture around him, Future inherited a sense of uniqueness and individuality through some of hip hops legends.Listen to all of these rappers 30 days for FREE on Amazon Music Unlimited. ![]() Their aim and intention with music was to always strive to be different and stay true to yourself. Other members of the collective include Big Boi, Andre 3000, Cee Lo Green & Killer Mike. In an interview with HiphopDX he talks about his 2012 hit Tony Montana: “When I freestyle I know there are bits you don’t really understand, but that’s what you like it for – thats what its all about to me, thats art.” He also spoke of coming from the Dungeon family, a legendary hip hop collective based in his cousin Riko Wade’s basement in Atlanta, Georgia. One of the original mumble purveyors Future has recently discussed his thoughts on the constant debates surrounding mumble rap. Some think its lack of structure appears ‘idiotic’ and reflects the genre as a whole negatively but others appreciate it as art. Much like the East-West coast divide in the 90s, modern styles of rap clashing over conflicting style is no first for Hip Hop culture. The sub-genre has recently received a huge amount of backlash from artists and fans, notably from J.Cole who’s heard dissing mumble rappers in his 2016 hit ‘Everyone Dies’: “A bunch of words and ain’t saying s***, I hate these rappers, especially the amateur-8-week rappers, Lil “whatever”, just another short-bus rappers”. The conversation revolves around its alleged lack of lyricism which is where the name ‘mumble’ comes from, supposedly coined by Wiz Khalifa. This new sound has recently sparked interesting debates over its authenticity. The use of pitched harmonies rather than slick, quick bars let the big bass drums dominate the song rather than the melodic instrumentals most people are used to when they think of hip hop. By focusing on the repetition of the words and melody more than lyricism, the emotion is more dramatic. The particular style of vocalising used in mumble rap is increasingly frequent in modern hip-hop and is spreading across the world. ![]() Hailing from the South of America, the genre stems from the glowingly popular sub-genre Trap. ![]() ![]() ![]() Once Stroud left, they continued focusing on growing in that area. Other participants might be firm and/or offer advice, but conviction and guidance are from the Holy Spirit.Īdding accountability to small groups can happen in a variety of ways. The role of other participants should be supportive and encouraging. Thus, accountability occurs between each participant and the Holy Spirit more so than between the participants. Conviction should come between participants and the Holy Spirit. This is not the kind of accountability we’re speaking of for Wesleyan small groups. Upon hearing this word, some small-group participants might envision something punitive or something that will induce guilt or shame. ![]() Without much context or explanation, the notion of accountability is likely to cause some confusion, consternation, and even trepidation. Trained facilitators make the most of teachable moments and rely on curricula only as a means for meaningful conversation. This is one of myriad reasons why small-group facilitators should be trained (see other resources for help with that). I’ll repeat that sentence for emphasis: It is more important to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead than to complete the lesson plan. As Jeffrey Arnold notes in his book, The Big Book of Small Groups, "Don't let a printed study hinder small-group creativity." It is more important to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead than to complete the lesson plan. Too often, curricula can get in the way of a fruitful discussion. In whatever form it looks like, small groups should make time to engage God’s Word.Īs I’ve noted in other articles, Bible study curricula can be a crutch for the group and for the church. For other groups, care or accountability might be the predominant features of their time together. For some groups, Bible study might take up most of the group’s time. ![]() Churches should offer a variety of small groups (see Grace Groups article), and how the Scripture should be engaged will and should vary according to the type of group. Certainly, there are many other practices and activities that small groups can and should participate in beyond exclusively studying the Bible. The Way of Prayer by Stephen Bryant and Jane Vennardįor some, a small group is almost equivalent to Bible study.Praying in the Wesleyan Spiritby Paul Chilcote.Prayer: Finding the Heart’s True Home by Richard Foster.I think this understanding of prayer is what Paul might have had in mind in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “pray without ceasing.” More than merely perfunctory words either at the beginning and/or end of the small-group time, prayer should be a time when we bring all of who we are before God’s throne, so that God might work in and through us. We don’t invoke God’s presence when we pray, as much as we attune ourselves to the God who is present with us. We can have a posture or attitude of prayer in various physical postures, for very brief or extended periods of time, in a church building or outside. Secondly, it properly locates us – in the presence of God. For one, there is nothing about talking or even listening. Conversely, my favorite definition of prayer is “Intentionally being in the presence of God.” I favor this definition or description of prayer for a few reasons. Perhaps this is in part due to the way many understand how prayer “works.” Most people seem to think of prayer as words we say to God. Unfortunately, prayer can become perfunctory to a small group meeting instead of the source of encountering God. The two most obvious elements of a small group are the spiritual practices of prayer and reading Scripture. This article will name and explain each of these six. What are the essential elements that go into a fruitful small group? There are (at minimum) six elements that characterize a small group in the Wesleyan tradition. ![]() 1/7/2024 0 Comments Replace cmos battery ps4![]() Well, if our PS5s are ticking time bombs then join us in blasting through the best PS5 exclusives while we can. ![]() This was followed by PS3 users reporting that they could no longer download certain game patches for PS3 games, which will render many games unplayable over time. If you want to support Does It Play’s call to Sony, you can use the template they provide to contact Sony and voice your concerns. Does It Play isn’t happy though, and is calling for Sony to release a firmware update that removes the requirement for the CMOS battery to connect to Sony servers for games and DLC to function. The PS3, PS Vita, and PSP are essentially paperweights once their internal batteries die, so the PS5 working at all is progress. There is some improvement here when compared with previous Sony consoles though. On PC, it’s a two minute job to replace the CMOS battery when it goes, but given the nature of games consoles, it’s not such a simple repair job. Sure, it will still play some disc games, but you’ll lose access to all your digital games.ĬMOS batteries have a variable lifespan, but it typically lies somewhere between 5-10 years, which isn’t great for anyone planning to hang on to their consoles in the long term. If you’re planning on hanging onto your PS5 for many years to come, you may reach the point where your console’s internal battery dies and you’re left with a severely hampered machine. Open the computer to access the system board. Press the power button 10 times to fully discharge electricity from the system. Turn off the computer, and then disconnect the AC adapter from the desktop. So, what does this mean for PS5 owners? Well not much for the time being, but there are huge implications when it comes to both game preservation and long-term game ownership. If specific CMOS replacement steps are not available for your system board, replace the CMOS battery using these generic steps. ![]() In the case of the PS4, the winding down of this clock actually prevented you playing disc-based games too, but the battery's death only affects some PS5 discs. ![]() Consoles rely on the accuracy of this internal clock in order to verify your access to digital content. The issue is that all Sony consoles, including the PS5 and PS4, have an internal battery called a CMOS which helps the console keep track of the time when it’s powered down. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War would start up, but the user couldn’t actually play the game due to its reliance on online connectivity which is impossible without the internal battery, Spider-Man: Miles Morales apparently played without issue, but Mortal Kombat 11 could not finish installation. In testing it was found that a PS5 with its internal battery disabled could still play a variety of PS4 discs in offline modes, along with some PS5 discs, but results were inconsistent. Original: The PS5 will still be able to play some disc-based games when its internal clock dies, but digital purchases will be inaccessible.Īccording to a study by game preservation team Does it Play, the PS5 won’t suffer as badly as older Sony consoles when its internal battery dies. ![]() 1/7/2024 0 Comments Instal Kaleidoscope![]() ![]() Find out more and snap up your tickets over here.
